Mailsuite does this for a very specific reason: to avoid false positives. As one of the most accurate email tracking services available, Mailsuite seeks to give you the cleanest data possible. We use pixel-based tracking, which is one of the best tracking technologies available, but it does have some limitations.
Let’s look at an example:
Suppose you send a tracked email to your potential client that includes your proposal for a large project. After sending the email from your desktop, you open your Gmail app and open the email to re-read it and make sure everything in your proposal is correct. In the meantime, your potential client also reads the email.
Some email tracking services would record this as two separate email opens, even though only one is an actual open from your potential client. And if you open the email from your mobile device more times, those would also register as opens, making your tracking data even more inaccurate.
To provide you with the most accurate tracking data, Mailsuite does not track self opens.
But what about testing to see if Mailsuite works?
If you want to conduct email tracking tests to ensure Mailsuite is installed correctly, you can send emails to an email address that is different from the sending email address. For example, you could send an email from your registered Mailsuite email address to your personal email account or to a coworker’s email account. If for some reason your emails are not tracked correctly, you can try these steps to troubleshoot.
